Duble Hotels is a small, independent index. It covers four kinds of hotel: art hotels, capsule hotels, casino hotels and ice hotels. That is the whole list, and it is deliberately short.

Why these four? Each one changes what a night away feels like. An art hotel puts work in front of you that you would otherwise travel to see. A capsule hotel strips a room down to the part you actually use. A casino hotel bundles rooms, restaurants, shows and a gaming floor into one property. An ice hotel is rebuilt from scratch every year.

What an entry contains

Every hotel gets a few paragraphs of description and a handful of short notes. We write about setting, the building, the rooms and what sets the place apart. We do not publish prices, star ratings, scores or reviews, because those change faster than we can keep them honest.

Who is behind it

The index is written and maintained by a small editorial team. Hotels cannot pay to be included, and nobody listed here has paid us. There are no affiliate links on the site.

The two tones

Each category has its own colour pair, a deep shade and a light one. Names and numbers sit on the deep side; descriptions sit on the light side. It is a simple rule, and it keeps every page readable in the same way.
